Happy New Year

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Kurt Vonnegut said that. This year I’m going to pretend to be a good person. I’m going to be less sarcastic, listen better, and build others up. I hope I haven’t wasted too much time doing the opposite of that. I have this thought almost every year. But I do think I’m getting better.

(This post was too cheesy to be promoted. If you found it anyway, thanks for being a loyal reader. Unless you’re my mom, in which case, love you Mom.)

  1. yes, you are quite right about this pretend business. I drive myself crazy at times with this. Being positively assertive without the aditional head games can be all the reward needed for changing behaviour. Pretending is passive aggressive isn’t it?
